Close to 16,000 commuters in Johannesburg were left stranded on Wednesday and Thursday when Metrobus employees downed tools, citing unresolved grievances with the City of Johannesburg-owned bus company.
A meeting was held between the bus service and disgruntled employees on Thursday who were aggrieved over a number of issues related to wages and shifts.
Meanwhile, commuters have complained that they were left in the lurch, with metro services being very slow to inform commuters on the strike. They also labelled the workers as ‘selfish’.
