Press freedom: Platforms for journalists to make their voices heard

Image: Alberton Record NATIONAL NEWS - The South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) tomorrow (Friday) hosts the second of four webinars aimed at promoting media ethics.  These webinars – which will culminate in an online ethics conference on 15 May – give participants the opportunity to help shape the journalism ethics recommendations that will be discussed at the conference.  The first webinar was on April 21 but journalists, editors, media trainers and other stakeholders can still register for the other three. Webinar 2: Using ethics as a tool for change When: April 23, 3pm-5pm. Themes: ‘Strengthening ethics codes and principles’ and ‘Strengthening the regulators’. Moderated by: Sanef Media freedom chairperson Mary Papayya, with expert input from Wits University professor Franz Kruger, Aidan White of the Ethical Journalism Network and Press Council of South Africa executive director Latiefa Mobara.
