A resolution that would have ended litigation between the Village of Herkimer and the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency over water rents at the H.M. Quackenbush property failed by a 3-to-2 vote at Monday’s village board meeting.
But Mayor Mark Netti said he is still hoping to find a way forward that the board will support.
“I don’t give up that easy,” he said during a telephone interview Tuesday.
Village Trustee Max Dhaniram and Netti voted in favor of the proposal to end the litigation while Trustees Ron Kopelman, Mark Ainsworth and Maria Fiorentino voted against it. Netti is hoping to see the matter settled so the proposed Herkimer 9 project can take over the building and restore it for a planned business incubator facility and museum.
