Nearly four years after its owners sought to disconnect it from Schaumburg, the former Loeber horse farm is still in the village and now the subject of a new proposal calling for 357 apartment, townhouse and rowhome rental units on the 33-acre site.
Despite the criticisms of approximately a dozen residents, Schaumburg trustees have unanimously approved what they re calling inflation-relief payments of $1,000 to the village s full-time employees and $500 to part-time employees.
Schaumburg is considering a new permanent outdoor dining policy that would be more liberal than rules that existed before the pandemic but not quite up to allowing the 2,700-square-foot tent that one restaurant is using.

Schaumburg is among the suburbs that regularly hold Coffee with the Council sessions for residents to meet and talk informally with community leaders.
