huge gender gap that pen fits the president or a trust gap that benefits mr. romney. a big trust gap on foreign policy that benefits the president. if we look at it, it s a complicated picture, is that what you re telling us about the better, stronger, faster, that it s come claitt. there are multiple narratives. we have vast disparities. in north carolina, tdakota, the unemployment rate is 3%, in nevada, it s 12%. we re making federal policies on both these places. i was out in toledo, the biggest employer, is the chrysler plant. the bailout worked. but in parts of ohio, where the main industry is coal, the obama administration is no friend of coal. we ll have trouble getting a single narrative about the economy. it feels like there should be
when you talk to the folks many them are still doing the best they $the troops are over there feeling like they are training people individually but that is at a small what we call tactical level. if you teach one, two, 20 or 100 to do well the problem is, we talking to the wrong people. the real issue is the sectarian divisions, the war lords and taliban. and nothing we do training up a few members will equip them with what they need in terms of logistics and financial backing and the ability to move weapons quickly and to respond and react and shape the environment. so, unfortunately the report will be more rosy than the reality. shepard: you say the real problem is there is a trust gap. reporter: between us and them and, obviously, that is a result of some number of afghans as we heard, more than we have been told, turning their weapons on our guys. that is a huge problem. so we don t trust them. but, they also know we leaving,

when you surge in any war front like we did in afghanistan and then tell the enemy when you re going to leave, it creates an inherent lack of trust and that s exactly what happens now. i saw it day after day after day in afghanistan and i just got back. the afghans know we re leaving in 2014, because of that they like decisions looking at a post american future, which widens the trust gap which is what you need when you re training afghan soldiers. i think we need to responsibly withdraw and making sure we do not allow a haven for the enemies in the process. dave: we re seeing your pictures there, an instructor in counter insuringsy. and when you re saying lack of trust, the afghani people, not necessarily the military, are choosing in long-term to side with folks like the taliban? i don t know that they are choosing to side with the taliban, they know we re not going be to be there, a calculation fthey re not going to be here, i better save my family or whatever i have,
