Trussville City Schools Foundation raises $12K at Casino Night event

From The Tribune staff reports TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Schools Foundation announced $12,000 was raised during Casino Night on Saturday, May 1, 2021. The event was held at Ferus Artisan Ales. Leslie Armstrong, with the foundation, said the fundraiser was made possible thanks to the many sponsors of the event and participants who purchased tickets. “Trussville City Schools Foundation would like to say thank you to our sponsors for their continued support to the Foundation as well as each ticket buyer,” said Armstrong. “We understand there are many non-profit groups that you could contribute to and we are extremely grateful that you have chosen us.”

Crews hit gas line while working on Old Springville Road in Clay

From The Tribune staff reports CLAY – Crews working to widen Old Springville Road in Clay hit a gas line on Thursday, April 29, 2021, leaving both directions of the roadway closed while multiple crews responded. The incident happened around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Civitan Road, where Bryant Park Elementary School is located, according to Jefferson County Commissioner Joe Knight. The location was in the city limits of Clay. Center Point Fire & Rescue, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Trussville Gas and Water responded. The fire department stayed on the scene for roughly two hours while the gas company worked to stop the leak and repair the line.

New sign shop hopes to bring hip and modern flair to Trussville

By Erica Thomas, managing editor TRUSSVILLE A Trussville couple is opening a new sign shop and their vision is one of innovation for the city. Amie and Andrew McCullough are the owners of Cahaba Design Co. They will open a new location in downtown Trussville in May. Andrew grew up in Trussville and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School. The two met while in college in Texas and decided to eventually make Trussville their home. Amie went to school for graphic design and has been in the business since. Aime McCullough has been working from home but recently saw a need in the city. When a new spot opened, she took the opportunity. Not only are they opening a brick-and-mortar, but they are also upgrading their equipment.
