with congress and as you said even though the media, for these 100 days, have really been out to get him. clayton: that s why he is not going to the white house correspondence dinner tonight. he has said the media has not been good to me why should i go and stand there and yuck it up with those guys in washington. he talked about the idea of the fake news and the story about this russian story that the mainstream media has been jumping on on these first 100 days. listen to mr. trump. so i have approvals in the high 40 s. every network that you see, with the exception of fox, fox has been fair. but every network you see hits me on every topic made up so it s like russia. they do the russia. the faux russia. i call it the fake russia story. russia story was made up because they were embarrassed by their loss. all you see is the russia story, the russia story. you see all of these other phony stories. it s so bad and for me to have great approval records in light of all the faux press
without being threatened with violence that you guys just spoke about earlier. even in the senate at the highest level of the democratic party you see no issue based to people like judge gorsuch. it s being part of resistance movement. playing to the chief seats in the party. it s unclear how this is going to play out for them going forward. abby: to be clear, i m in favor of a strong too two party system. i think the country and the world is better off when you have two party that are strong. the challenge it seems with democrats, richard, who is leading the party right now? chuck schumer was asked about that and who could ultimately beat president trump. here is how he responded. lots of people. lots of people. one name? i m not going to pick a name. but if he continues at the rate. who is the leader of the democratic party. you? we have a bunch of leaders. you know. we have a lot of very good voices. it s much too premature to handicap 20, 20. who is the leader of the de

good to be here. thanks for having me on. abby: you heard about president trump yesterday about healthcare and how he was disappointed republicans couldn t get their act together. how do you respond to that? listen, i think we have to take a step back. is he disappointed at republicans or disappointed at democrats? you know you talk about this a lot on your show. we are trying to navigate these rules in the senate because you have the filibuster rule and democrats in the senate. part of this resist movement. they will stop donald trump at every cause. even when there is good ideas how we fix obamacare or how we repeal and replace it they want nothing to do with giving wind to this president. it s been frustrating and tough. 100 days in. don t have a repeal package yet for the president. i have got to tell you what, i just got back to washington from wisconsin. moderates and conservatives are coming together and i think we get healthcare done next week. pete: democrats have resisted
and voted from trump from that state had to to win it. pete: capital of pennsylvania. that state a major battleground state and went solidly for donald trump. pete: what i love about him being from harrisburg, pennsylvania tonight he won t be in the swamp instead talking to a bunch of white house correspondents. he said have your party i m going to talk to the people 100 days. abby: i wonder about the coverage. are they going to focus on the corresponwhite house correspond dinner or rally. clayton: here is what he had to say yesterday at the nra rally. i m also proud to be the first sitting president to address the nra leadership forum since our wonderful ronald reagan in 1983.
