the meeting, it s meaningless. the entire point is that the russians could have made associates of the trump family or campaign unwitting participants in some sort of collusion that the russians had planned and were attempting. and because she couldn t make a good defense of donald trump jr. s meeting she did what i understand, and she does so well because i, too, have known kellyanne a long time. she is as articulate and unflappable as they come. she has the frustration that many people who work for presidents before president trump have had. they don t believe their good news get out and so they believe the free press is not being fair because they only cover the corners that the administrations are cutting, the untruths that the presidents are telling, the things they re trying to cover up and potential scandals. that was true of obama. he felt that the press was out to get him. he went after the press very
thought he would recuse himself from the investigation. anything regarding the investigation into russia. as you also heard before, that may be because he was connected to the campaign, it was never possible for him to be a part of this. it would ve been helpful perhaps for that to be laid out on the onset. instead it was such an epic decision for him to recuse himself, and of course, that was a series of events that was brought onto a special counsel. these men have had their ups and downs and most people close to president trump have. as he goes in there today, he is a hard bringer. the first of the administration to sit down and speak forcefully, we expect, about their side of the story. no doubt, his number one viewer is going to be president donald trump, who we know has a very big screen. he ll be at the white house watching everything. bill: at this point, on board air force one. there is a tv there too. shannon: let s take a back down to d.c. as we stand by.
and a large majority correctly believes that the press is being tougher than they were on obama. that s the issue. the press should be tough on presidents of both parties, and i don t think that we ve quite seen that because, frankly, if you look at the washington press concerns in particular, they are overwhelmingly comprised of democrats who voted for barack obama, and-none of them voted for trump. so let s be tough on every president, not just the ones that we don t like. no, i agree with that too, guy, but i do think it s important to mention that, you know, president obama and president trump have, you know, really conducted themselves very, very differently. kelly: yeah, different styles for both. and i think because president obama wasn t neary as aggressive nearly as aggressive, particularly this strong out of the gate, i think it s natural to see a difference, you know, of coverage from the media between president obama and president trump well, i m not sure kelly:
washington, hi, garrett. hey, julie, the president has been clear that he believes executive order need to be place in order to keep the country safe. the problem with that the current order is in the hands of the court and court battles take time to play out. after that growing number of legal of challenges coming from around the country, it s clear that the court battles could be playing for a long time something that the president acknowledged yesterday on air force one. [inaudible] we will win that battle but we also have a lot of other options including just filing a brand-new order. with speed and mind the white house is now working on that new executive order which would accomplish essentially the same thing as his previous order but would be tailored to address some of the concerns that have been raised so far by the judges handling the legal challenges and one concern repeatedly expressed the lack of
it s choosing to go in one direction. up. boost. be up for it. kelly: welcome back. it s the bottom of the hour, time now for news from england, bracing for more heavy snow after the biggest storm of the winter hit the region on thursday, forecasters predicting several more inches of snow this weekend as people continue to dig out from the earlier storm. julie: thousands of pro-life activists rallying at planned parenthood clinics today asking congress and president trump to cut federal funding for the organization. planned parenthood supporters organizing more than a hundred counter-protests across the cup. kelly: pink flamingos and other protected animals killed for
