City man pleads to fentanyl charges | News, Sports, Jobs

gvogrin@tribtoday.com WARREN A Warren man pleaded guilty Thursday to a multiple-count case involving fentanyl-related compounds, the same day the federal Drug Enforcement Administration announced a new initiative to disrupt the flow of deadly fentanyl into areas like the Mahoning Valley. Michael Crain, 46, of Van Wye Street SE, Warren, pleaded guilty before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice to two counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and having a weapon as a convicted felon. Crain was named in a secret indictment Dec. 15, 2020, on eight charges, but he agreed to plead to a deal that called for him to be convicted of four charges. The plea deal headed off a scheduled trial that was set for May 10 in Rice’s courtroom.

WARREN A Leetonia man, who formerly lived in Hubbard Township, was given five years of probation Thursday after pleading guilty to charges alleging unlawful sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl. Austin M. Boerio, 20, who gave authorities addresses of 379 Columbia St. in Leetonia and Elmwood Drive in Hubbard Township, pleaded guilty March 25 to an amended charge of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor. As part of his probation, Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice ordered Boerio to write a letter of apology to the girl. The judge also told Boerio he must not have any contact with the girl including through texts or social media, throughout the term of his probation.

WARREN A former Liberty woman who in March 2020 was indicted on sex charges involving a 3-year-old has been brought back to Trumbull County from a federal prison in Arizona to face prosecution in the year-old case. Candis Wynn, 34, formerly of Lucretia Drive, Liberty, was booked into the Trumbull County jail last week. She is scheduled to be in Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice’s court Thursday for a final pretrial hearing on charges that include three counts of rape that carry possible life sentences, one count of gross sexual imposition, six counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and four counts of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.
