FREE SWABBING: The Trumbull Community Action Program is hosting walk-in COVID-19 testing 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Trumbull Plaza, the former Kmart site, 2485 Parkman Road NW, Warren.
Nasal swabs will be administered by the National Guard on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no out-of-pocket cost. No appointments are necessary.
This TCAP-sponsored event is in collaboration with the Trumbull County Combined Health District, Warren officials and the Ohio National Guard.
SOCIETY TO MEET: The Niles Historical Society will meet 10 a.m. Saturday in the McKinley Memorial Museum auditorium. Social distancing will be observed, and masks are required. The event will be a membership meeting and a discussion on historical society events during a pandemic. The budget and finances will be reviewed and voted upon.

COAT GIVEAWAY: Trumbull Community Action Program will hold a winter coat giveaway 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at TCAP, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren. Coat seekers must contact Theresa at 330-393-2507, Ext. 345, to schedule an appointment to pick up a coat.
Gently worn and new coats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one coat per individual. Masks must be worn during pick up.
Eligible attendees also will have the opportunity to receive children’s shoes and school supplies.

FIRST AID CLASSES: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering first aid, CPR and AED classes 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Participants will receive an online module that must be completed prior to the in-person session.

WILLIAM McKINLEY 178TH: President William McKinley’s 178th birthday celebration will be 2 p.m. Friday for a virtual birthday party celebration. The public can take part by signing onto McKinley’s birthday party and also learn fun facts throughout the day. Visit the library’s YouTube Channel at 2 p.m. to watch a short video about how much things have changed since McKinley was born in 1843.
TCAP RELIEF GRANT: The Trumbull Community Action Program’s home relief grant offering mortgage and rent assistance, and help with water and /or other utility bills, is available. Assistance may be applied to outstanding rent, mortgage, water and sewer bills back to April 1, 2020. The Community Action agencies will make direct payments on behalf of the applicant to the landlord, bank, or water and / or sewer company. WARREN Area residents wanting to know if they have been exposed to COVID-19 will have multiple opportunities to get tested at no cost over the next 10 days.
Trumbull Community Action Program will have drive-up testing 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday in the former Kmart Plaza, 2485 Parkman Road NW.
Nasal swab testing will be administered by the Ohio National Guard on a first-come, first-served basis. No doctor’s appointment is needed. There will be no out-of-pocket expenses for those tested.
TCAP officials are working with the city of Warren, the Ohio National Guard and the Trumbull County Combined Health District.
