Museum for the history of world war i. It is a global museum. We talk about all of the belligerents that were involved in world war i. It is not just about the United States during the war, but everything from the summer of 1914 to the peace treaty of june 1919. Our collection is the most comprehensive collection of world war i materials in the world. It is not the largest, but it is comprehensive in that we do deal with all nations that were involved in the war. Were not just centric to the country that were located in. In the museum when youre going through the exhibitions you see about 10 of the Museum Collection at any one time. The rest we use for research, for references, for loans to other institutions, and just to make sure that we have an encyclopedic collection of the war. When we are teaching about the history of it we want to cover everything from point a to point z. Brought to the Hoover Library by cspan in partnership with mediacom. The curator shows us the additional artifacts that accompany each of the portraits. Today we are at the Herbert Hoover president ial library in west branch, iowa. We are in the museum portion of the building. This is our temporary exhibit, which is cspans american president s life portraits. The idea for this came about from thinking about bringing the temporary exhibit from cspan. And then adding something personal from each man to show Something Different about them. We think of them as about the president s, but we want to show them as human beings as well. And that is an interesting aspect. Some of these guys were very interesting. To borrow the objects, it was an extensive process trying to find sites associated with the different people and getting them to agree to loan us items. CSPAN3 Americans With Disabilities Act 27th Anniversary August 14, 2017

That was 27 years ago. It is one of the First Federal civil rights laws focused on protecting persons with disabilities and against discrimination and public accommodations and services and telecommunications. I am especially proud to highlight the commissions role. The disabilities focus and legislation in a 1983 report accommodating the individual abilities. A former staff attorney with the commission was one of the primary authors of the report described his job as to survey the whole field, history, legislation, legal commentary, and Court Decisions on the status of people with a in American Society and the law. The conclusion of the report was that society has tended to isolate and segregate people with disabilities and to despise and despite some progress, discrimination continues to be a serious and pervasive social problem.
