EDWARDSVILLE A dental patient alleges she lost consciousness twice from pain after her dentist failed to properly anesthetize her during a tooth extraction.
Michelle Carmichael filed a complaint May 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Richard Boatman, Jr., DMD and Richard Boatman, Jr., DMD, PC doing business as Troy Family Dental, alleging negligence.
Carmichael claims in her suit that while undergoing dental treatment provided by Boatman on April 11, 2018, she suffered injuries due to Boatman s negligence. Specifically, Carmichael alleges Boatman failed to properly anesthetize her, which caused her to lose consciousness twice due to pain. She also alleges he had to stop her tooth extraction procedure before it was complete.
