The David W. McCoy Scholarship has been established for Troy Buchanan High School students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).Â
The purpose of this scholarship is to fund motivated students who may not have the opportunity to attend college without additional financial resources. The scholarship awards $8,000 annually (renewable up to $32,000 over four years) per student. A new scholarship recipient is selected each year.
To qualify, a graduating senior must be ranked in the top 20% of their class and meet the financial need criteria.The 2021-22 application deadline is April 30, 2021.Â

After nearly a quarter-of-a-century of service to the people of Lincoln County, Dr. Virginia Mennemeyer will be sharing her knowledge of dentistry and healthcare with the rest of the state of Missouri.
On Dec. 15, Gov. Mike Parson appointed Mennemeyer to the Missouri Dental Board, whose purpose is the protection of the public when exercising the licensing, regulatory and disciplinary functions of those who practice dentistry in the state.
Mennemeyer joins Dr. Jennifer Williams-Tinnel of Kansas City and Dental Hygienist Stacie Scrivner of Mount Vernon as new appointees on the Dental Board.
âIt was very exciting to be appointed,â said Mennemeyer, who owns and operates Mennemeyer Orthodontics in Troy. âItâs part of what my mission is: to protect the integrity of the dental field.â
