The measure is the result of bipartisan compromise and cooperation among Congressional leadership and the administration, plus input from the incoming Biden administration. It was carried over the goal line by a group of moderate legislators from both parties. As a result, of course, no one is 100% satisfied. But the stimulus package is seen as a short-term solution to support individuals and businesses over the next few months. House passes short-term funding bill as negotiations continue The House passed a Continuing Resolution Wednesday to fund the federal government through Dec. 18, one week past the current scheduled expiration date of Dec. 11. The Senate is expected to take up the bill shortly and negotiations continue on a long-term funding bill with potential pandemic relief. CUNA is continuing its engagement with policymakers to secure extensions of several relief provisions from the CARES Act set to expire Dec. 31. These include Troubled Debt Restructuring (TDR) and Central Liquidity Facility (CLF) relief, as well as Paycheck Protection Program forgiveness.
