every great songwriter i can think of came through the troubadour. jackson browne, j.d., henley, and frey. linda ronstadt, kristofferson, joni mitchell, james taylor. the big sea change was people writing their own songs and expressing themselves. is it difficult to reveal yourself constantly to so many people? why do you have to do this? i feel an obligation to myself and to people to try and share myself, maybe as honestly as i can. i left my folk and friends with the aim to clear my mind out well, i hit the rowdy road and many kinds i met there many stories told me of the way to get there ooh, ooh so on and on i go
