It s no secret Columbia is a town full of talented singers and artists, but every now and then one of them gets the chance of a lifetime on the big stage.
Or should it be the small screen?
When promos for the 19th season of American Idol (4th on ABC) premiered earlier this year, there was a familiar face among the auditions, Columbia s own Cassandra Coleman, who is now the third Muletowner to appear on the show.
Although she couldn t divulge the details of what it s like making a first impression in front of this season s judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan, Coleman spoke with The Daily Herald about her life as a singer, her love of Columbia and the decision to take a chance at fame.
