ANKARA
A host of environmental disasters, including deadly rains and floods in Sri Lanka and Guatemala, volcanic eruptions in Indonesia s Mount Merapi, as well as wildfires in Turkey and tropical storms in the Philippines and Vietnam, were reported in June.

+ June 09, 2021 HEAVY rains brought about by the recent onslaught of Tropical Storm Dante and localized thunderstorms in Negros Occidental have caused a total of over P20 million worth of damage and production losses to the province s agriculture sector.
Final report of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, showed that for crops alone, the damage surged to about P19.6 million.
The figure covers 1,113 affected rice, corn, and high-value crop farmers with combined areas of 1,077.31 hectares in 92 barangays of 13 local government units (LGUs).
