Little Rock Athletics is excited to announce Warren and Cindy Simpson as the honorees for the 13th annual SpectacUA
LR event benefiting Little Rock Athletics on Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Jack Stephens Center on the UA Little Rock campus.
“Warren has been a tremendous friend and supporter of Little Rock athletics and our university,” said Director of Athletics George Lee. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to honor Warren and Cindy for their service and what they have meant to UA Little Rock. Warren played an instrumental role in making the Jack Stephens Center become a reality.

The last time I presented a campus report to you was in November of 2019. A lot has happened
since then.
I’ll provide a brief recap of the last 15 months as context, but I’ll spend the larger balance of my
time talking about our institutional priorities as we move forward.
Looking Back
In the year 2020, UA Little Rock faced at least five major challenges, any one of which easily
could have consumed 100% of our attention and energies. At the beginning of the 2019-2020

The year 2020 was a year unlike any other, where the University of Arkansas at Little Rock faced major challenges that included a global pandemic that has redefined the education landscape.
“Throughout the year, we faced all of these challenges with determination and unprecedented levels of collaboration and collegiality no matter how exhausted we were,” Chancellor Christina Drale said during the Jan. 28 Board of Trustees meeting for the University of Arkansas. “That’s not to say there weren’t disagreements, but we rose above all of that to get the job done and I am very, very proud of the work of our campus community at all levels.”
