Reel 2 Reel acquires North American sales rights to Paddy Slattery s Broken Law | The Irish Film & Television Network

24 May 2021 : Nathan Griffin Broken Law Irish crime thriller Broken Law has landed a number of distribution sales across the globe according to 101 Films International, the distribution company handling international sales of Paddy Slattery’s debut feature film. The film has been picked by several companies including Reel 2 Reel for North America, Phoenicia Pictures in the Middle East, Rialto for New Zealand, and HBO for CEE.    We re over the moon with the news that our film is being picked up around the world,” writer/director Paddy Slattery told IFTN.  “It can be a difficult task for a sales agent to sell an independent film internationally without any high profile cast involved, so news like this comes as a very welcomed surprise,” Slattery continued.

Irish crime thriller Broken Law has just been added to Netflix | JOE is the voice of Irish people at home and abroad

Dave (Tristan Heanue), a respected member of the Guards, has his life turned upside down when his criminal brother Joe (Graham Earley), is released from prison and immediately falls in with the wrong crowd. The film also co-stars Gemma-Leah Devereux as Amia, a woman who stumbles into the brothers lives in the most unexpected way, and Cardboard Gangsters and Love/Hate star John Connors as local criminal Wallace. Ahead of the film s limited cinema release in 2020, we caught up with Paddy to chat about the madness of feature filmmaking, as well as Irish audiences obsession with crime thrillers, the future of cinema-going and the perfect post-lockdown popcorn movie.
