(Reuters) - A rare case of human monkeypox was detected in Texas, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Friday, making it the first case of the virus seen in the state.
The viral illness was found in a U.S. resident, who recently traveled from Nigeria to the United States and is currently hospitalized in Dallas. While rare, this case is not a reason for alarm and we do not expect any threat to the general public, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said. (https://bit.ly/2Tf90H9)

(Reuters) â The U.S. drug regulator said on Friday it will temporarily allow manufacturers to distribute versions of Pfizer Incâs anti-smoking drug Chantix with elevated levels of an impurity that may cause cancer, in order to maintain supplies.
Drugmaker Pfizer in June halted distribution of Chantix, or varenicline, and recalled a number of lots after finding elevated levels of cancer-causing agents called nitrosamines in the pills. (https://reut.rs/3Bd8SJh)
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will temporarily allow some manufacturers to distribute varenicline containing impurities above its acceptable intake limit of 37 nanograms (ng) per day, but below an interim acceptable intake limit of 185 ng per day, until the impurity can be eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels.

(Reuters) -Pharmacy chains CVS Health, Walgreens Boots Alliance and retailer Walmart Inc began pulling Johnson & Johnson s sunscreen products off their shelves after J&J said it had detected a cancer-causing chemical in some samples.
Pharmaceutical and consumer goods company J&J on Wednesday voluntarily recalled five Neutrogena and Aveeno brand aerosol sunscreens and advised consumers to stop using the products and discard them after internal testing found low levels of benzene in some sprays.
The recall comes two months after online pharmacy Valisure filed a petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), saying it had found levels of benzene that were higher than recommended in over a dozen products that provide protection or relief against sunburns, including sprays and lotions.
