there will be more it. this, death threats not only to those individuals but to democracy itself. it is metastasizing until it can be condemned and not accommodate it, it will continue. that s the path we are on as a republic right now. it couldn t be more serious. death threats that reflect threats to our democracy itself. margaret, it is a continuation of the violent behavior that we have seen since january th really before january 6th. one would think january 6th would at least slow it down a little bit and the reaction to it would slow it down, but it s just not stopping. it s not stopping. i was very grateful to trisha raffensperger for coming forward and sharing the story, the fact they had to leave their home for their own safety that the death threats were so serious she
i mean, everything about it looked official. now, as you may know, the state of georgia was subjected to president trump s repeated and false claims of voter fraud, after losing the 2020 election. georgia secretary of state brad raffensperger spoke with cnn last night about the threats his family received and their decision to temporarily go into hiding. we didn t know how many people were going to show up that weekend. but it seemed apparent to us they were basically casing our house. we decided to take an early thanksgiving vacation and that s what we did. his wife trisha is speaking out with death threats and text messages received as recently as april. you and your family will be killed very slowly.
cnn. he s an enemy of the people. trisha got the first ones. for some reason they targeted her. first, they said to tell brad to step down, that type of thing, but then they ramped up. then it went to stage two, they just got vulgar and rude. reporter: trump s baseless accusations led to an election worker getting threatened with a noose. a 20-something tech at gwinnett county today has a death threat and a noose. this led gabriel sterling to angrily call on trump and republican leader to congress democrat the threats. someone will get hurt, someone is going to get shot, someone is going to get killed, and it s not right. reporter: still, during a peach, former president trump didn t skip a beat, still
