The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of judicial officers Biswajit Palit and Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha as Tripura High Court judges.
The Tripura High Court observed that the normal rule of bail not jail in criminal cases is not applicable to cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) and the UAPA.
The court had expressed serious concerns over the incident, however, closed the proceedings after Advocate General informed that it were violent clashes between two political groups and the CM's house was not attacked.
