Hanoi (VNA) – An official from the Ministry of Health’s General Office for Population - Family Planning has emphasised the need to join hands in further supporting and protecting migrants, especially in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Speaking at a meeting in response to the International Migrants Day jointly held by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam and the Ministry of Health’s General Office for Population - Family Planning (GOPFP) in Hanoi on December 17, Director of the General Office s planning and finance department Dang Van Nghi said the Vietnam Population Strategy till 2030 has directed to pay more attention and investment to vulnerable groups, including migrants.

Mary Vu Tat of the diocese, Tuyen acknowledged the contribution of Catholic
dignitaries, priests and followers to the city’s socio-economic development in 2020
despite COVID-19.
She informed that the city has basically completed its
socio-economic targets, with its GRDP growing nearly 4 percent, 1.5 times
higher than the national average, and its budget collection exceeding the
estimate by 0.2 percent.
The official took the occasion to highlight the Catholic
community’s engagement in the capital’s pandemic prevention and control work,
hoping them to continue their collaboration with the local authorities in 2021.
11st ASEAN Regional Tripartite Social Dialogue Conference held online The 11th ASEAN Regional Tripartite Social Dialogue Conference was held virtually on December 17 by the Ministry of Labour Invalids and Social Affairs and the ASEAN Services Employees Trade Union Council (ASETUC).
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of International Cooperation under the MoLISA Nguyen Manh Cuong said 2020 is a special year with many changes due to COVID-19, which has affected the lives of millions of people in the world.
The conference is an important opportunity to propose sustainable solutions, collect ways to respond to the pandemic of ASEAN’s partners, and share labour-related issues.
