Byron Nelson Round 1: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Byron Nelson Round 1: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Here is (some of) what you need to know about the Craig Ranch iteration of the tournament. By Tim Rogers Published in FrontBurner May 14, 2021 3:27 pm The pandemic forced the cancellation of last year’s AT&T Byron Nelson, whose two previous incarnations had struggled at Trinity Forest Golf Club. Its southern Dallas location confused White people. Its treelessness invited heatstroke. Even The Pavilion, that bacchanal tent under which so much Michelob Ultra had flowed when it stood at the Four Seasons, couldn’t get people swinging. So they moved the tournament to TPC Craig Ranch, in McKinney, and organizers promised to “bring the party back.”

Frosted Flakes: Dyatlov Pass, 66 Pounds of Oranges and Traveling Under the Social Influence

Frosted Flakes: Dyatlov Pass, 66 Pounds of Oranges and ‘Traveling Under the Social Influence’ Share this story That’s a lot of oranges One of the strangest mysteries that has fascinated me the most was the Dyatlov Pass incident. A group of hikers never returned after leaving on a trip into the Ural Mountains. The causes of death ranged from internal bleeding, head trauma and hypothermia. A National Geographic article released last week (I posted the article below) declared that the cause of the death was releated to a small avalanche. It seems convincing enough after reading the article and watching some other recent videos about the incident (see below) but I’m curious to hear everyone else’s thoughts about the recent findings.

Smith Ties for Third in Texas

Nebraska’s  Kate Smith fired a final-round 68 (-4) to charge 15 spots up the leaderboard and tie for third individually at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday. Smith, a fifth-year senior from Detroit Lakes, Minn., entered Tuesday’s third round in a tie for 18th, before putting together an impressive final 18 holes to close at 219 (75-76-68, +3). Smith’s final round included five birdies, including four on the front nine, and an eagle on the par-five 11th hole. She posted a 33 (-3) on the front, before adding a 35 (-1) on the back over the par-72, 6,258-yard layout at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
