MONDAY Marked the Anniversary of the 2019 Unsolved Murder of Terrell Ray in Murfreesboro Aug 02, 2021 at 03:32 pm by WGNS A look into the ‘MPD Crime Files’ above with Public Information Officer Larry Flowers takes a look at a 2019 murder that remains unsolved in Murfreesboro, TN.  MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Criminal Investigations Division detectives are hoping for any new leads about the 2019 unsolved murder of Terrell Ray on this, the second anniversary of his death.  Terrell s mother Trina Anderson, told Murfreesboro Police. The murder of Terrell Ray unfolded in the early morning hours of August 2, 2019. An armed subject shot and killed Ray and then stole his truck at the Villager Condominiums near MTSU on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. He was only 30-years old when he was left for dead.

Finding healing in the wake of her son’s murder has not been easy for Rafia Muhammad-McCormick. As Muhammad-McCormick navigated the grieving process, she knew she needed to find purpose. I feel like God is calling me to do something with this sacrifice, to help me not to feel as isolated with the situation,  she said. And now, she has, thanks to a newly forming nonprofit and grief support group. Muhammad-McCormick unveiled her nonprofit Rodney’s Village at a Mothers Over Murder rally last Thursday at Murfreesboro’s Civic Plaza. Over 50 community members gathered at the rally, held in partnership with Nashville Peacemakers; seven parents of children killed by gun violence spoke.
