Dr. Carl F. Hammerstrom Jr.
MARQUETTE, MI – Dr. Carl F. Hammerstrom Jr., 84, of Marquette, died on Tuesday morning, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his family and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice at the Trillium Hospice House.
Carl was born April 23, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Carl F. and Mary (Metcalf) Hammerstrom, Sr.
He graduated from the Phillips Exeter Academy in 1954, Harvard University in 1958 and Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1962.
He was drafted in December of 1967 and served his country as an Army Medical Officer with the US Army Fifth General Hospital, Bad Cannstatt Germany FROG from 1968-1971.

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI – Clifford Bruce Peterson was reunited with his sweetheart, Karol Lautner Peterson and beloved son, Bennett in the early hours of Wednesday, March 3, 2021. He quietly and peacefully passed, with loving family around him, a year after being diagnosed with carcinosarcoma. He did not lose to cancer; he won in his grace, courage, and in his strength.
Bruce was born March 25, 1938, in Marquette, Michigan. He was the son of Russell Albert Peterson and Marion Sylvia Snell. Russell passed away in 1970 and years later, Bruce gained his wonderful stepfather, Ron Plotezka.
Bruce had fond memories of his childhood in Marquette, and of being a big brother to his siblings. In high school, his incredible basketball skills catapulted the shy teenager into the spotlight and District championships. He also caught the eye of a beautiful cheerleader and proceeded to steal her heart.
MARQUETTE, MI - Lilly Mae Goedert, 74, of Marquette, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the Trillium Hospice House while under the care of Lake Superior Life
