One million dollars’ worth of fines have been handed down to three Connecticut natural gas companies from state utility regulators. The fines are for safety.
The decision affects United Illuminating and its affiliates, Southern Connecticut Gas Co. and Connecticut Natural Gas Corp. and Eversource, and its affiliate, Yankee Gas.
Eversource Energy has agreed to pay $1.8 million over allegations that it violated the consumer protection rights of natural gas customers in Connecticut.
