Nungesser cites upcoming projects to increase tourism in northeast Louisiana

The tourism industry in Louisiana was hard hit by the COVID-19 shutdown, but Discover Monroe-West Monroe CEO and President Alana Cooper and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser see light at the end of the tunnel.
On Friday, Nungesser was the guest speaker at the Discover Monroe-West Monroe Tourism Industry Luncheon at Bayou Pointe on the campus of the University of Louisiana Monroe.
At the luncheon, several individuals and groups were recognized for their contributions to the local tourism industry.
“Through this difficult year for the tourism industry, this event offered an opportunity to recognize those that have shown strong leadership and set an example for others. We are pleased to honor these award recipients and recognize their dedication and efforts in the Monroe-West Monroe tourism industry,” Cooper said in a news release.
