Shooting in San Francisco, but tonight a picture is emerging of the shooter, a disgruntled employee who apparently felt overworked. First we have identified the gunman as 38yearold jimmy lam. He and the victims all worked as drivers for ups. We saw investigators removing potential evidence from lams home in the richland district this afternoon. He shot and killed three people before killing himself. Three other ups workers were treated and they have now been released from the hospital. But the warehouse is the distribution facility situated alongside highway 101. It sits between 16th and 17th streets and utah street and san bruno avenue. The official with the teenster unit said he complained of excessive overtime, but no one foresaw what happened this morning. Here is video, you can see how huge the flames were, a five alarm fire, they had help from sunnyvale and they had help from the county, as well, at the scene. Fires say it was too dangerous to go inside. They pulled out. Much 6 the facade came down. Fires were concerned about people inside but they made the determination that no one was inside. They were defensive in the attack of the fire. I spoke with a Business Owner of a dance studio on the corner. Their business is okay. But she obviously is devastated about what took place. My heart sunk when i saw the fire. Obviously it is devastating for all of the Business Owners most of them have been here for quite some time. It is shocking to come and see the place pushing. They are doing their boast to try to keep it to a contained wing of the building and i help they will be able to stop it before it burns and my building. Several businesses clearly destroyed,
The scene. Reporter theres still crime tape up at the scene and Police Officers protecting the evidence inside the home. Not much left of the couples home. Police say they tried to get the man to come out of it. They even brought his parents to the scene to try to talk to him but he refused, and they found him dead inside. The residence of the home that burned overnight. This is all thats left of their home and, they told us, their dog died if the fire. Police say the man who holed up in their house chose it randomly. The couple was not there at the time but worked with police throughout the night. We were in constant communication with the homeowner and made direct contact with them. Reporter Fremont Police say they believe the man who hid in this home shot two officers yesterday afternoon. Both officers are in the hospital, one in Critical Condition.
