The Special Tribunal has declared a land reform lease agreement entered into between the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform and Cultiver Investments irregular and unlawful.
Former rural development and land reform minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, 'frustrated due process' and 'flouted constitutional values' in approving a land reform lease agreement after investigations found irregularities and that the beneficiary was not a viable concern, the Special Tribunal found.
The Special Investigating Unit has welcomed last month’s Special Tribunal order that declared ex-minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane's land reform lease agreement with Cultiver Investments irregular and unlawful.
The petitioner argued that the Tribunal Registrar had no jurisdiction to impose any dress codes for lawyers, as the latter were governed only by the Advocates Act and the BCI Rules.
