Indian telecommunications company Tata Communications took advice from Herbert Smith Freehills on its acquisition of a majority stake in eSIM provider Oasis Smart SIM Europe. Tata Communications, part of Tata Group, a Mumbai-headquartered conglomerate, purchased a 58.1% stake in Oasis, which has its headquarters in France. The transaction was announced towards the end of December last year. By acquiring Oasis, Tata Communications will integrate Oasis’ technology and personalised service offering for the deployment of eSIMs and SIM technologies into its own company. The result will be end-to-end connectivity solutions for Tata customers.
