Vandalia’s city budget for fiscal year 2021-2020 appears sound, by any measure.
“We came out in the black this year,” City Administrator Darren Berry reported to the Board of Aldermen. “Fund balances are strong.”
Nonetheless, the city finds that it must bump up fees at the swimming pool when it opens later this year.
Season passes for individuals will increase by $5 to $50. Family season passes for a maximum of three people will go up from $135 to $150, with each additional family member adding $75 to the bill.
That’s an increase of $5. Swimming lessons, private pool parties and events will also go up.
