You have a surge of female population coinciding with the opening up of womens opportunities politically. The stories about this generation that came of age during the period of the nazi regime in the 30s who saw, you know, opportunities that they didnt have before, take part in the political system, the revolutions, all exciting job opportunities, and their first way of getting out of the villages. Many of the women, you know, living in small, remote villages wanted to get art to see the city and experience city life.
