Phase Two:
2025-2026
Construction covers two additional sections of the freeway from Bristol Road to Thread Creek (south of Phase One) and from the Flint River to Carpenter Road (north of Phase One.)
What are they doing? According to the project manager, Trevor Block, this project will be a complete reconstruction of the roadway to include new concrete, 41 bridges will be fixed, replaced, or removed, and all exit and entrance ramps on that stretch will be worked on.
The funds for this project on I-475 are being made possible through Governor Whitmer s Rebuilding Michigan Program, which has a five-year transportation program scheduled for 2021-2025. To visually see what the Michigan Department of Transportation has planned, check out the interactive map here.
