If you did any Christmas shopping in the past week or so, you may have put yourself in the middle of a COVID-19 superspreader event.
Experts say people not following health rules to the letter makes for big gaps in safety, which nobody wants to think about this time of year. Christmas shopping itself has been a superspreader event if you take in summary all the people that are out because of that Christmas shopping and their potential exposures. Then you ve increased the risk of the community for an increased number of cases, explained McLennan County Health Authority Dr. Farley Verner.

TEMPLE, TX â The first shipment of Pfizers COVID-19 vaccine has made its way to Central Texas. Baylor Scott and White in Temple received their shipment of 3,900 doses earlier this morning.
There s no exact count of how many healthcare workers have received the vaccine today, but BSW officials say they plan to vaccinate up to 300 medial professionals who come in constant contact with COVID-19 patients.
âThereâs a lot of excitement among our physician s other providers nurses and other Frontline employees, Dr. Tresa McNeal, Hospitalist at Baylor Scott and White said. It was a very extensive application process but we are extremely grateful that our site was selected as one of the initial delivery sites.â

TEMPLE, Texas Baylor Scott & White Temple received its first batch of Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday.
BS&W Temple received 3,900 doses. It is one of 19 sites in Texas to receive the vaccine which was approved by the FDA Dec. 11. We can confirm that we have received our vaccines and that we have begun the process of vaccinating our healthcare workers, a statement from the hospital read.
Dr. Tresa McNeal said Monday that while the vaccine is not required for the hospital s frontline workers, many of them said they want it.

TEMPLE, Texas Baylor Scott & White Temple will receive its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday afternoon. Temple is one of the first sites to receive the vaccine, said Dr. Tresa McNeal with Baylor Scott & White.
BS&W Temple is one of 23 sites to receive the first wave of the vaccine approved by the FDA Friday. It will receive 3,900 doses on Tuesday.
Dr. McNeal said front line workers have worked especially hard this year and while the vaccine is not required, she said the list is long for those that have said they want it.
