Man leads sheriff s deputy on pursuit

By Christopher Harris Commonwealth Journal Mar 4, 2021 Johnny Dylan Turner A Hazard man was recently arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office after leading authorities on a pursuit, first on the the road then on foot. Johnny Dylan Turner, 21, was taken into custody and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center following the incident, which took place at around 6:45 p.m. last Saturday, February 27.  According to the sheriff s office, Deputy Trent Massey saw a black 2014 Hyundai being driven erratically on Jarvis Avenue. Massey stopped the car at Jarvis Avenue and Maplewood Drive, and as he got out of the car to contact the driver, the vehicle drove away.

Johnny Dylan Turner, 21, of Hazard, was arrested and charged with first-degree Fleeing or Evading Police (Motor Vehicle), first-degree Wanton Endangerment (Police Officer), first-degree Wanton Endangerment, second-degree Fleeing or Evading Police (On Foot), Tampering with Physical Evidence, Speeding (25 mph over Limit), aggravated Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs (first offense), Operating Vehicle with Expired Operators License, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance (first offense). According to Turner s arrest citation, the incident began in Somerset at approximately 6:44 p.m. Friday when Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff Trent Massey saw a 2014 Hyundai Veloster cross the center line on Jarvis Avenue with its left tires.
