Rowley Inn in Tremont
As much as we loathe to use the hackneyed phrase “hidden gem,” sometimes it’s simply the most apt descriptor. The Rowley Inn is a juicy bit of old-school Cleveland, an off-the-beaten-path neighborhood saloon that oozes history. These days, in addition to the hooch, the bar offers gastropub-quality food in the form of burgers, tacos, fish fries, and even salads.

There might be no better breakfast in town than what’s offered at this iconic Tremont coffeehouse. The cheddar-scallion biscuits topped with scrambled eggs and sausage gravy are rightly famous, as are the breakfast burritos and Shipwreck, which is way more enjoyable than it sounds. At lunch, chef-quality sandwiches like curried chicken salad, lamb burgers, and Reubens make an appearance.
