THE former waterfront home of a captain of superyacht once owned by Adnan Khashoggi and sold to Donald Trump is on on the market for a cool £3.5million. The house is situated on Briton s Slip, Falmouth between the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club and Prince of Wales Pier, and is approached by an ‘ope’ way and flight of granite steps leading off the High Street. It even has its own detached pool house with swimming pool and sauna. Briton s Slip occupies a unique waterfront position with magnificent uninterrupted views of Falmouth’s inner harbour across to Flushing, Trefusis Point and the sailing waters of the Carrick Roads with the Roseland Peninsula beyond.
Falmouth Harbour have confirmed support for the Falmouth Classics 2021 in Cornwall as headline sponsor. To recognise the 150 anniversary of the harbour, Falmouth Classics Association is planning a spectacular parade of sail and power and, with over 190 vessels participating since 2017, is set to be one of the largest heritage and classic events in the UK. A Royal Naval vessel is expected to lead the parade from Trefusis Point off Falmouth Docks, towards Black Rock, followed by a flotilla of harbour vessels, led by one of the Falmouth Harbour pilot boats. Then, behind the modern port craft, a fleet of sailing pilot cutters will follow, some original and some modern recreations, alongside other vessels relevant to the harbour s past.
While the spread of coronavirus and the resulting restrictions wiped out most events this year there is still plenty to look forward to on the eve of 2021. With the Oxford vaccine now given approval, just a couple of weeks after the rollout of the Pfizer jab, it is hoped that a much larger percentage of the population will be able to receive it sooner. And while things are very much reliant on government guidance at the time, Falmouth Town Team has given a teaser of what people can look forward to in 2021 if the situation allows.
