Margaret Kovach says leaving the University of Saskatchewan wasn’t an easy decision.
Kovach, a professor of educational foundations of Nêhiyaw and Saulteaux ancestry from Treaty Four territory, left the U of S College of Education on July 31, 2020 to take a position with the University of British Columbia.

“I left because I could see no path forward to stay in the college in a way that I felt supported,” she said. “The university as a larger entity, they could not find a way to retain me.”
