Travis retiree office seeks volunteers By Travis Air Force Base Retiree Activities Office TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE The Retiree Activities Office at the base is actively seeking people to staff its volunteer desks. The Travis Retiree Activities Office is typically open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding weekends, federal holidays and Air Mobility Command family days. There are two, three-hour shifts available: 9 a.m. to noon and noon to 3 p.m. The office serves as retirees’ information central and as a referral service for military retiree and annuitant pay issues, casualty reporting, Survivor Benefit Plan, Tricare, veterans benefits, base activities and a host of other issues that affect the quality of life in retirement.

Beale webinar to focus on balanced eating for retirees BEALE AIR FORCE BASE Shalala Khoei, a licensed dietitian with the 9th Medical Group at Beale Air Force Base, will host an upcoming episode of the “Keep It Real” webinar series. A distinguishing feature of military life is the presence of individuals from different cultures. Khoei will discuss the effect of international cuisine on the American diet, as well as the influence of American diets on those from other countries. In this edition, she will focus on Asia and Latin America. The webinar takes places at 6 p.m. Dec. 17.
