Furness parents wanted for Tokyo Olympic challenge

School staff and parents of pupils in the Furness area are being invited to take part in a district-wide challenge. Currently, schools are closed to all students apart from vulnerable pupils and children of key workers due to the government s new lockdown restrictions against the Covid-19 pandemic. With schools now closed, the Travel To Tokyo challenge is calling on Furness school staff and parents to accumulatively run, walk or cycle the equivalent distance to Japan National Stadium before the schools reopen to all students again. Tokyo is the chosen city as it is set to host the Olympics this summer after last year s event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
