and we have to find a way to get to them. we re not vaccinating our children. only about 11% of kids less than 5 who are now eligible for vaccines have been vaccinated. we allowed a single judge in florida to remove the travel mask mandate. and rather than ask for a stay from an appeals court, this administration chose not to do that. so now people travel largely unmasked. if you ve been to an airport recently you see that maybe 1 out of every 6 or 1 out of every 7 passengers is wearing a mask. the rest of the public walks around like this pandemic is over. and that s largely because almost, you know, unpublicized in february of this year the cdc changed the map. and they changed the map from just showing case rates to basically focusing on hospital admissions and hospital
and just meanness frankly. but at the same time, we can t ignore the biological realities. and when it comes to the mountains of research out there, it says time and time again that a male and a female are different athletically. when we talk about peak athletic performance the ones who are the professionals there is no doubt men have an advantage over women. if there was no advantage they wouldn t be copping up with different rules for transgender folks to try to compete against women. harris: there you go. and all of the testing for testosterone and so on and so forth. they aren t testing women for that. they are testing transgender womening not cis women as lia thomas put it. thank you very much. the justice department appealing the judge s ruling striking down the federal travel mask mandate. they want people to wear masks on planes and trains again. it s an effort to get the rule reinstated and this from the border.
order that lifted the travel mask mandate. now, this past april, a federal judge struck down the requirement to wear masks on planes, buses and public transit declaring to be unlawful. i want to bring in pete williams. and i ve been flying a lot lately and i don t see a lot of folks on the planes wearing masks. at this point it is a personal choice. if you want to, you do. so what is the likelihood this mandate could get reinstated? i d say in the current climate zero chance. and that is really not what the appeal is about. the federal government is mounting this appeal because it doesn t want a federal court ruling remaining on the books that says the cdc does not have the authority to require wearing masks on public transportation. remember the government said a month ago that they would appeal the order. so this latest filing is the justice department s detailed argument on why it thinks the judge got it wrong when she said
along ukrainian borders, other places. all of the things that need to take place before anybody would even consider allowing russian oil and gas back into the united states of america. or any kind of commerce whatsoever with russia, you name it and beyond that you look at that and say there are absolutely zero american red lines as it relates to any war going on inside of the ukrainian borders. so, you have to go out there and you have to make it clear what we will tolerate. what we will not. because this is what gets us into these situations of russia pushing the envelope further and further and further. they know that nobody has any commitment to stop them. that s what happens when you have no red lines. ainsley: congressman. something happening at home we are all wearing those masks or many places are wearing the masks. cdc is saying we have travel mask mandate. you are pushing for the house to vote to end this. tell us how that is going and if you have the vote. we had a bill p
who has just temporarily blocked the biden administration from ending a trump era pandemic res restriction on the u.s./mexico border. the biden administration hadn t trying to end the title 42 in less than a month from today. it allows border authorities to turn back from their home country because of the covid crisis. saying if they end it would create chaos. joining us to discuss it is kasie hunt. i wonder what you make what this means for their plans because the white house is already in a bit of disarray with democrats and republicans, both critical of the fact they were going to end this. so what does the ruling from the judge mean from what they re planning to to do next month? i think for the biden administration, a little bit saved by the judge, i mean, this is a situation unlike the travel mask mandate problem, this is something where they re going to be potentially saved from the policy disaster.
