COVID-19 cases remain low on the eve of Thanksgiving

Where to get a PCR coronavirus test for going abroad

PCR tests involve a swab inside the nose and the back of the throat (PA).  The PCR tests have faced an increasing level of criticism over the last couple of months in terms of their affordability.  Each PCR test alone typically cost £120 each, although several travel companies offer them for £60. The Transport Secretary has offered hope of cheaper Covid tests for holidaymakers as he previously told MPs the Government has been working to “drive down the cost” of the swabs. There is currently one company on the Government’s approved list is selling a single PCR test for less than £45.

International travel: These are the PCR test providers nearest to you

International travel: These are the PCR test providers closest to you FOR THOSE looking to travel internationally this year, good news was announced by the government yesterday (May 10). A list of coronavirus travel test-providers was updated on the Government website, providing a list of businesses that could potentially provide day 2 and day 8 testing for international arrivals during the 10-day quarantine period.  The bad news, however, is that many holiday forums and social media groups have expressed concerns that the costs of these tests could put-off families from travelling, with tests being as costly as £300 per person (or more) in some areas of the country.
