Jan. 15 There was one report of unemployment identity fraud. 7:36 a.m.: Officers responded to Star Market parking lot for report of a stolen item. They spoke to a Belmont man who said he parked his 2004 pick-up truck in the Star Market parking lot and when he returned, he noticed something hanging from the bottom and realized someone removed the catalytic converter to his truck. Officers asked how long his truck was in the spot and he said he maintains the lot during snow storms and leaves the truck on the property per an agreement with Star Market. The truck was parked there since the last storm one month ago. The last time he checked it was the night before and it was intact. The value of the catalytic converter is $2,000.
