Detonations occurred in some of the explosive devices discovered March 14 in downtown Brevard, police said March 15.
No injuries or signs of property damage have been reported. No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon, and investigators continue to follow leads.
Deputy Chief Tom Jordan said he did not know the exact number of devices found, but police believe the number is “less than 10.”
Investigators previously thought there were up to 20, but it turned out that pieces of a single device were counted.
A call to the Brevard Police Department at 10:30 a.m. Sunday alerted police of suspected incendiary devices near First Baptist Church of Brevard and the Transylvania County Community Services Building in the area of East Morgan and Gaston streets, a March 14 press release said.
