The Transylvania County Board of Education will accept more applications from county residents interested in replacing Ron Kiviniemi, who resigned last month, on the board.
Dr. Lisa Anderson Fletcher was announced as the new Superintendent of Transylvania County Schools at a special called meeting of the Board of Education. She will replace Dr. Jeff McDaris
Ron Kiviniemi resigned from the Transylvania County Board of Education Monday, citing wanting to move back to his hometown in Berea, Kentucky and disagreeing with the board’s current direction.
