The Democrat said the ban will end at 9 a.m. Thursday. Neighboring states are implementing similar bans. The governor said the ban won’t affect the state’s orders of COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer, which have already arrived. The state is planning to allow up to five nursing homes to begin vaccinating staff and residents on Friday, in advance of the planning Monday rollout.

Massachusetts is under a winter storm warning as state and municipal workers prepare for at least a foot of snow across much of the state. But the state likely will have some driver shortages during the storm, Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack said.
