Former Wyoming Senate President Coe dies at home at age 74 – Sheridan Media

CODY, Wyo. (AP) Former Wyoming Senate President Henry ‘Hank’ Coe has died at age 74. A Republican from Cody, Coe was first elected to the Wyoming Senate in 1988. Besides serving as Senate president from 2001-2002, Coe was chairman of the Senate Education Committee from 2003-2020 and played a key role in major decisions involving public education. Coe decided in March not to seek re-election. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November and died Thursday at home with his children around him. In addition to leading the education committee, Coe chaired the Air Transportation Liaison Committee and was a member of the Senate Minerals, Business & Economic Development Committee, Select Committee on Capital Financing & Investments, Energy Council and Council of State Governments-West Education.
