This one is from Toby Hunter.
“There is also some major work being done near the intersection of NW 34th Street (Blvd) and NW 53rd Avenue,” Hunter wrote in a recent email. “We live in Northwood Oaks, and it appears that the new road will have a serious impact on our ability to enter and leave our neighborhood at NW 54th Avenue. Along with the addition of sidewalks, it looks like the road is being expanded on both sides to 2 lanes.”
Troy Roberts of the Florida Department of Transportation Lake City district office provided some information.
The $5.5 million project is on 34th Street from 16th Avenue to 13th Street and should be completed next year, Roberts said in an email.
