5G hit more than one billion subscribers globally in 2022, making it the most successful generation in mobile history. But the evolution of 5G, and the transport network that must support 5G, is far from complete. Massive rollouts of 5G services based on new midband spectrum, migration from non-standalone (NSA) to standalone (SA) 5G cores, virtualization of the RAN, edge cloud deployments for low latency, and 3GPP Release 18 (5G-Advanced) will drive significant change in both the RAN and the transport network.
In this timely webinar, Heavy Reading will be joined by leading experts from Ericsson, Fujitsu, and Nokia to unveil key findings from Heavy Reading s 2023 global 5G Transport operator survey exploring transport network considerations and requirements to meet the challenges of the next phase of 5G services.
Topics addressed will include:
- Capacity expectations for 5G fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul
- How 5G-Advanced and stand alone 5G cores impact transport decisi
